Agenda
1. Futurist Development Brief
The main item on the agenda will be as previously advertised, a discussion regarding the Council's recently published draft development brief for The Futurist and the surrounding area.
Although the formal eight week period of public consultation is yet to begin; given our generally crowded agenda, it was thought better to commence our debate now rather than later.
An overview of the document will be given so that we may:
- Discuss whether we think it is broadly heading in the right direction
- Highlight any particular issues we feel will require closer attention

2. Design and the Urban Realm
Postponed from last month and if time permits, we will hope to begin our coverage of this important topic. Matters will include the pending introduction of the Localism Bill and possible outcomes from The Bishop Review.
Published last October by the Design Council CABE, The Bishop Review looks at the future of design in the built environment, concluding amongst other things that:
'England needs a networked system of design support, providing local people with access to built environment expertise and advice.'
