A special meeting of the Urban Space Group will take place at the University Campus, this Thursday 19 July 2012, starting at the slightly earlier than usual time of 19h00.

1. Proposed New Sports Facility - University Campus
The purpose of the meeting will be to consider the University of Hull's recent application to construct a new sports facility for Scarborough's University Campus on Filey Road. This facility will comprise an outdoor multi-use games area, sports hall, fitness suite, studio, seminar rooms, various supporting changing rooms and social spaces.
Members of the Group may remember that back in January of this year we were visited by the project team, and held quite a lively discussion with the lead architect about the proposed development. The application is now in, and we have been formally requested by the Planning Department to comment on the scheme.
Parking is available on campus and members are requested to assemble on the steps of the main entrance, prior to viewing the site. Following the viewing, we will then return to a classroom to discuss our response.
