1. Scarborough's Proposed Superstore Developments
Following the late availability of the Independent Retail Assessment Report and the County Council's Highways Report, as well as some minor amendments to both Tesco and Sainsbury's applications, this Thursday's main agenda item will now focus on the store proposals.
Please note, that as the closing date for the consultation process is now Tuesday 29 November 2011, this will be our last and final opportunity as a Group, to comment on two of the most difficult and significant retail proposals to be brought before the town for some years.

An opportunity for members of the Group who may wish to comment on the outline application for 1,350 new dwellings and other associated developments within the area known as Middle Deepdale.
Given the scale of the application, it is recommended that we restrict our review to the detail contained within the Design & Access Statement. Although, other issues can be taken into consideration if you feel they are relevant.

4. 11/02181/FL - Moorlands Hotel - North Promenade - Whitby
Although strictly speaking a Whitby proposal, you may wish to spend a little time looking at this application to demolish the Moorlands Hotel on North Parade, and replace it with twelve homes.
The Design & Access Statement is quite detailed and worth a view. Particularly, as we have recently expressed concern regarding the quality of such reports submitted as part of the planning process.

A brief update on the establishment of an independent Steering Group to consider the future of this potentially important public asset.
