USG Meeting - 19h15 Thursday 09 June 2011

The next meeting of the Urban Space Group will be held in the Cavalier Suite of the Royal Hotel on Thursday 09 June 2011 and will start at 19h15.

Agenda

The main agenda item will consider the variation and discharge of various conditions relating to the outline permission to develop the site of High Mill Farm, Scalby. You may remember that this is a rather complex application to build 400+ homes and business units to the north of Scalby village. Given this, what we are proposing to do is to concentrate mainly on the revisions to the masterplan, as we would like to discuss whether we think the developers have produced a scheme appropriate to the site and the wider area. We hope to be joined at the meeting by Matt Diamond of the Planning Department, members of Scalby Village Trust and Scalby & Newby Parish Council.

Copies of the masterplan and design code character areas can be viewed on the website of Signet Planning:

In addition, other items will include brief updates regarding the Tesco and Sainsbury store proposals, the Duchy of Lancaster's outline application to construct 155 new dwellings in the village Cloughton, The Street, and news of June's Town Team meeting.

Time permitting, we will also consider an application to develop the site of the Cricketer's Arms on North Marine Road, Scarborough. The proposal covers the building of retirement housing for the elderly, including communal facilities, landscaping, and car parking provision.

The meeting is scheduled to finish by 20h45 at the latest.
