Manor Road Playground - Saturday 28 March 2009

Between 11h00 and 15h00 on Saturday 28 March 2009 there will be an open public consultation event at Manor Road Playground - the area adjacent to the Woodland Ravine road bridge over the old cinder track. The purpose of the consultation is to seek the opinions of the local residents regarding the playground and surrounding area, in order to help draw-up an appropriate costed development plan for associated improvements.

The consultation will take three forms:

1. SpaceShaper Questionnaire - A standard questionnaire facilitated by CABE, that tries to gain an understanding of what people feel about the space. Further details can be found by clicking the following link:

2. Arts and Crafts - A fun bit aimed mainly at children and young people, where they'll be given the opportunity to design and build an ideal play area. It's hoped that BEAM will also be in attendance to provide other supporting activities. Further details about BEAM can be found by clicking the following link:

3. Post-It Planning - A looser consultation with big aerial photos and plans of the site along with examples of good quality open spaces and play facilities. Post-its and marker pens will be provided for people to suggest ideas and make comments. This will also include a look at landscape design with Groundwork North Yorkshire.

In order to support all the activity, we'll be providing a large marquee to protect everyone from the weather, a BBQ for 200 and music.

Everyone is welcome to attend, so please take the opportunity to come along and share your ideas.
